Level 2 Certificate in Pest Management
The Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH), the National Pest Technicians Association and the British Pest Control Association (BPCA) worked in close partnership to design the Level 2 Certificate in Pest Management. It is the qualification which provides pest control technicians with a single, clear career qualification path.
Whether you are already working in pest control or looking to enter the field, this qualification will equip you to carry out your professional duties as safely, efficiently and humanely as possible.
Approved by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and meeting the legal requirements relating to the training of pest control technicians set out in the Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986, the Level 2 Certificate in Pest Management provides technicians with the essential knowledge required by professional pest controllers.
The qualification is divided into five units (Vertebrate Pest Management, Invertebrate Pest Management, Health, Safety and Legal Aspects of Pest Management, Techniques for the Management of Vertebrate Pests and Techniques for the Management of Invertebrate Pests). The first three are the constituent parts of the level 2 Award in Pest Management (see level 2 Award in Pest Management) and this should be considered the theoretical part of the qualification. The additional two units are practical based and assessed. They should be completed after some practical experience has been gained.
