Wildlife Aware Training
Wildlife Aware Course And Accreditation
One-Day Course for Pest Control Technicians
CRRU and BASIS have established a new training course, and associated accreditation scheme, for professional pest control technicians, and other competent users of rodenticides, under the title “Wildlife Aware”.
The course and accreditation is aimed at those who offer a service of rodent pest management to farming enterprises and other businesses in rural areas. Those who attend the course will have already attended training courses in rodent pest management so that they are competent in the use of anticoagulant rodenticides. “Wildlife Aware” accreditation is offered to all those who attend the “Wildlife Aware” course and pass the examination.
This accreditation is intended to indicate to customers for rodent pest control services that those who hold the accreditation will work to the highest standards in order to achieve effective pest control with minimum adverse effects on wildlife and the wider environment.
Five modules will be presented during the one-day “Wildlife Aware” course:
- Why Control Rodents.
- Rodent Species – identification and behaviour.
- Effective control rodents on farms and farmland.
- Environmental Impacts of Rodenticides.
- The Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use
Pest Solution Ltd is offering this course to those who wish to become “Wildlife Aware” Accredited Technicians. The cost of the course is £100-00 + vat including lunch and course materials. A further £75-00 is payable to BASIS for the license to use the “Wildlife Aware” logo, the BASIS examination fee and the first year of “Wildlife Aware” accreditation. Receipt of full payment confirms booking.
